1. Vulcan reduces the adhesion of lime

The crystallization behavior of the calcium crystals is changed. Lime reduces its adhesive properties and is simply washed out with the water.

2. Vulcan cleans the pipes

Vulcan gently dissolves existing incrustations in the pipe system. Old pipes are gently renovated.

3.Vulcan protects against rust and corrosion

Vulcan promotes the formation of a metal carbonate layer in the pipe. This serves as a protective shield against rust and pitting.

    *Ion exchangers (salt-based water softeners) use salt and chemicals to treat the water. They replace the
    minerals (calcium and magnesium ions) with twice as many sodium (salt) ions. By removing calcium and
    magnesium, the water is softened.

    Ion exchanger* (salt device)

    Conventional ion exchangers are expensive to purchase and require a high level of maintenance by specialists.

    Maintenance includes constant refilling with salt, disinfection, washing of the granules and checking of valves and the measuring station.

    Ion exchangers consume large amounts of salt – about 50 kg per year per person – and significant amounts of additional water of about 110-300l per regeneration.
    The water treated with ion exchangers has a sodium content that is 2.5 times higher. For people who have to follow a low-sodium diet, consuming this water poses a health risk. Those affected include people with high blood pressure, babies, and pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
    Ion exchangers often become heavily contaminated. If the water in the ion exchange resin stagnates below room temperature, the ideal breeding ground for germs to multiply is created.
    The carbon dioxide released in softened water can cause corrosion and pitting. The corroded metal from the pipes can leach into your water. This can contribute to elevated lead and copper levels in drinking water.
    The use of ion exchangers requires a regular supply of sodium chloride, which in turn is fed into the water and increases the chloride content there. An increased chloride content leads, for example, to acidification of streams, mobilization of toxic metals from soils and increased mortality and reproduction of aquatic plants and animals.
    An ion exchanger usually lasts 10 – 15 years.
