Problems caused by limescale and rust

– Clogged pipe system
– Loss of water pressure due to reduced pipe diameter
– Rust deposits in the pipes, which can lead to corrosion
– Bacterial growth in pipes carrying drinking water
– Repeated repairs or replacement of household appliances
– Replacement of the entire piping system
– Energy losses in the hot water circuit and high heating costs
– Calcified surfaces in the bathroom and kitchen
– High cleaning costs and need for aggressive cleaning agents
– Non-functioning machines
– High production costs due to maintenance work
– Long production breaks when machines are maintained and cleaned
– Reduction in productivity

Rust – a common problem associated with limescale

Unfortunately, limescale deposits also attract other undesirable substances, which in turn lead to even more problems and dangers:
The main components of LIME are calcium and magnesium.
This leads to the assumption that limescale deposits are white in color.
However, most deposits are brown.
Once limescale forms, iron and oxidized iron particles become embedded in the limestone.
This means that rust bonds firmly to the pipe, which leads to corrosion - the result is pitting.

Bacterial growth – the side effect of limescale deposits

Limescale deposits are also an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and others
unwanted microorganisms.
Since lime has an uneven, rough surface, these small depressions are a perfect hiding place for bacteria to nest.
Whether in cold or hot water, you will always get an increase
detect potentially dangerous bacterial growth.

This information only applies to Spain
